float height

The height of the tick marks in inches (or cm) on a full-page output. A negative height will cause the tick marks to point outward. Otherwise they point inward. The default height is 0.07 inches on the default output page.

 

tickht() gives you full control over the appearance of tick marks on all plots. Most journals prefer ticks to point inwards.
